Have you really accepted God’s unconditional love? Are you deeply programmed that you have to earn everything? In this episode, hosts Maribeth and Ginger challenge the voices that tell us we are not good enough and share practices to help you accept God’s real love.

Show Notes

Practices to overcome negative self-talk and feeling not good enough:

Build-A-Bear imagery–At our creation, God held a ball of light and loved us, and then the layers built up of being told we were unworthy. But, at our core is that pure ball of light that is God’s love.

Love thy Neighbor–We are programmed to show more love to our neighbors than ourselves, but Christ is teaching that you should love yourself without judgment just like you do your neighbor.

Talk to yourself as you would a friend” by focusing on changing your self-talk.

Make a physical list of words that I am beloved, I am worthy, I am a child of God and I am enough.

Compassionate hands — place hands on your body where your soul resides.  Speak the above words (eg. I am beloved) and this allows to fill yourself with love so you can go out and love others.

  • Romans 8: 16-17, The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.  Now if we are children, then we heirs – heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.
